happy birthday sam!!

It is my lovely husband’s  birthday today! Sam’s gifts included off -white chucks, very colorful work socks to peep out of his professional suits, and this personal portrait of our little fam by Nan Lawson.

I do have to say that the last gift may be one of the best gifts I have ever given. Sam immediately had a big smile on his face as soon as he opened it, and I think he may have even said something like, “awwwwwww.” Yah he has never done that.

Nan did an incredible job of capturing all the nuances of our little unit– everything from Danny’s goofy smile to my blushing cheeks.
